Abstract

In the stories of Mridula Garg, microscopic pictures of the social, cultural, economic and family conditions of a woman are found. In their stories, the life of women is broken, sex and frustrations resulting in broken relationships, role of woman in family etc. The female characters of the stories written by them, except the roots and stereotypes, come up with new consciousness. Mridula Garg has depicted the reality of women in the society as it is in their stories. In addition to positive changes in women's conditions as a result of modernity, negative changes can also be understood through these stories. Mridula Garg's stories introduce a new sense of familiarity to the various dimensions of female consciousness. The most powerful aspect of her fiction has been to underline the questions of female identity.
